Theodora
Simran Ahira
She dives into the depths of the forest
On the hunt
For the secrets of the universe
She finds herself
Stumbling across the quietest of corners
Wherein lie the most precious of gems Well-preserved scraps of knowledge
On the most beautiful brown paper
The ripest of the rarest of fruits
Dripping in juice and wisdom
She slurps it all up
As it pools beneath her
And she plunges into the warm sweet liquid
Whose current carries her along
Down a river that leads to the oceans within her
She swims in her own womb
Breathing in the darkness, the blacks and the reds
She comes up for air
A semiaquatic creature
She lives on earth
And above it
She journeys on
Explores, discovers, creates, observes
Her keen eye finds all sorts of magic Which trickles in through her pupils
And settles in her cells
Like little seeds
That grow into the tallest and greenest of trees
A thousand times taller
Than the soft human shell that holds her
So gently
Anyone lucky enough to find her
Will find magic too
In her words, in her art
In her eyes
And in the forest that grows behind them
Wherein lie the secrets of the universe.
