Hey there! My name is Simran Ahira and I am a British artist currently living in Birmingham. I was born in London in 1998 and have been making art for as long as I can remember.

For me, being an artist is a mindset and lifestyle, a way of seeing and moving through the world. Living, experiencing and connecting are my main modes of research and sources of inspiration.

Currently, I am primarily a painter, and find abstract painting to be the medium through which I feel most comfortable expressing myself. Painting is a way for me to explore my subconscious, allowing my environment to feed into and guide the work, mostly following intuitive mark-making decisions. The paintings are both the journey and the findings.

Other media I enjoy are illustration/drawing, poetry, songwriting/music, filmmaking and photography. 

My art aims to explore and express the intricacies of the human experience. My main goal as an artist is to create work that can act as a form of catharsis for myself and others.
